Hormone Replacement Therapy
About our Program
At Drew & Co, we understand that hormonal changes can impact your vitality and quality of life. Our specialized Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) is designed to restore balance, helping you regain energy, improve mood, and enhance overall wellness.
Overview
As we age, hormone levels fluctuate, which can lead to a variety of physical and emotional challenges. Low hormone levels, such as reduced testosterone in men or estrogen and progesterone imbalances in women, can cause symptoms like fatigue, decreased libido, mood swings, memory issues, and muscle loss. These changes may affect self-esteem, physical performance, and mental health, ultimately impacting your lifestyle. Through HRT, we help restore balance, optimize health, and support vitality for both men and women.
Benefits of Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) for Men and Women
HRT offers a wide range of benefits for both men and women, including:
- Improved heart health
- Increased muscle mass and strength
- Enhanced memory and mood
- Restored libido
- Better quality of sleep
Hormone replacement can also promote lean body mass, which helps maintain a healthy weight.
How Do We Diagnose Hormonal Imbalances?
To diagnose hormonal imbalances, your healthcare provider will conduct a simple blood test to measure your hormone levels. This can be done in-office during your appointment.
What Does the Program Look Like?
Your program begins with a comprehensive history and physical exam with Drew Velasco, a Triple Board Certified Nurse Practitioner. She will review your medical history, take vital signs, conduct lab work, and discuss potential treatment options based on your individual needs.
How Much Does TRT Therapy Cost?
The initial history and physical exam is $150, which would be due at the booking time.
An additional $150 would be due after your appointment to cover lab work after we determine that you would be a good candidate for treatment.
The cost of TRT therapy varies depending on your underlying medical conditions, the dosage type, and the treatment duration. We offer in-office and at-home programs.
What Kind of Testosterone Treatments Do You Offer?
At Drew & Co., we use bioidentical and synthetic hormones tailored to your specific needs. For testosterone therapy, we offer injectable solutions in both bioidentical and synthetic forms. These are typically administered intramuscularly and come in 100mg and 200mg vials.
How long does someone need hormone replacement therapy?
The duration of HRT depends on your health goals, symptoms, and individual needs. Treatment typically continues as long as symptoms are effectively managed and the benefits outweigh any potential risks. Follow-up appointments, usually 6-8 weeks after starting treatment, are scheduled to assess progress and adjust treatment as needed.
What Are the Risks?
As with any medical treatment, hormone replacement therapy can have risks, including:
- Sleep apnea
- Increased risk of stroke
- High blood pressure
- Worsening urinary symptoms
- Polycythemia (increased red blood cell count)
We’ll work closely with you to monitor your progress and ensure the benefits of treatment outweigh the risks.
